STUNNING and VERY RARE LYSIMACHOS TETRADRACHM KINGDOM OF THRACE MACEDONIAN KINGS OF THRACE, LYSIMACHOS (305-281 BC), AR TETRADRACHM KINGDOM OF THRACE. MACEDONIAN KINGS OF THRACE. Lysimachos (305-281 BC), AR Tetradrachm (31mm, 16.87 g, 12h). Lampsakos Mint. Struck circa 297-281 BC. Diademed head of the deified Alexander III "the Great" right, with horn of Ammon; / BAΣIΛEΩΣ ΛYΣIMAXOY, Athena Nikephoros seated left, left arm resting on shield, spear behind; herm to outer left, monogram "ΔΖ" to inner left, crescent in exergue. Thompson 49; SNG Copenhangen 1097. VERY RARE and SPLENDID PORTRAIT of ALEXANDER III "THE GREAT" in FINEST HELLENISTIC STYLE ! Struck on broad flan of good metal with lovely tone. GOOD EXTREMELY FINE ! VERY RARE ISSUE from LAMPSAKOS MINT with "ΔΖ" Monogram and with a SPLENDID PORTRAIT of ALEXANDER III "THE GREAT" in FINEST HELLENISTIC STYLE; among the finest of all LYSIMACHOS Tetradrachms known!!!
