Lysimachos (305-281 BC), AR Tetradrachm (31mm, 16.84 g, 1h). Lampsakos Mint. Struck circa 287/6-282 BC. Diademed head of the deified Alexander III "the Great" right, with horn of Ammon; / BAΣIΛEΩΣ ΛYΣIMAXOY, Athena Nikephoros seated left, left arm resting on shield, spear behind; herm to outer left, monogram ΔΖ to inner left. Thompson 50; SNG France 2553-4. EXTREMELY RARE and AMAZING PORTRAIT of ALEXANDER III "THE GREAT" (at a younger age, than in the common issues) in finest hellenistic Style. Struck on broad flan of sound metal with amazing cabinet iridescent tone. MINT STATE ! EXTREMELEY RARE ISSUE from LAMPSAKOS MINT with "ΔΖ" Monogram and an AMAZING PORTRAIT of ALEXANDER III "THE GREAT" (at a younger age) in FINEST HELLENISTIC STYLE; among the best and finest of all LYSIMACHOS Tetradrachms known!!!
