PAPHLAGONIA, Sinope. Circa 490-425 BC. AR Drachm - 16mm (6.07 g). Head of an eagle left, dolphin left below / Quadripartite pattern, opposite quadrants incuse and granulated. SNG BM Black Sea 1365; SNG Stancomb 751; SNG von Aulock 197. EF, well centered and exceptional for this issue. Virtually unimprovable and perhaps the finest known of the type.
