Head of Arethusa or Tanit-Persephone left, wearing wreath of grain ears, triple-pendant earring, and necklace; dolphin and caduceus before on left field / Head of horse left; palm tree with clusters of dates on field right; "MM" in Punic characters beneath neck truncation. Jenkins, Punic Sicily, O68/R192, but this Die-Coupling is unrecorded; Boston 495, but ONLY this obverse die. (RRR) !!! PROBABLY UNIQUE, as this Die-Pairing is apparently unpublished !!! SPLENDID and VERY RARE PORTRAIT OF Arethusa or Tanit-Persephone in high Relief from ARTISTIC DIE in one of the FINEST STYLES of the Period for this Coinage. Struck well centered on broad flan of sound metal, lightly toned. A MARVELOUS COIN from an EXTREMELY RARE DIES COMBINATION with STUNNING PORTRAIT in HIGH RELIEF and in the FINEST STYLE of the HELLENISTIC PERIOD for this Type of Coinage.
