RIC V783

Vespasian70

RIC 783 (Vesp), BMC 172 (Vesp), RSC 162 Rome Mint, 75 AD Obv - T CAESAR IMP VESPASIAN; Head of Titus, laureate, r. Rev - PONTIF TR P COS IIII; Pax std. l., with branch. VF Part of the great issue of denarii in 75 AD, this type for both Vespasian and Titus was minted in very large quantities. Presumably this reverse is a nod to the Temple of Peace which was completed in the same year. A fairly common denarius. Good, strong portrait on this one.
