TRAJAN. AE Dupondius. Rome, 115 AD Obv. IMP CAES NERVAE TRAIANO AVG GER DAC P M TR P COS VI PP Radiated and draped bust right, seen from 3/4 Rev. SENATVS POPVLVSQVE ROMANANVS / FORT RED Fortuna seated l., rudder and cornucopiae. RIC 653v (not cuirassed); Cohen 160v (ditto) Very rare late bust variant, with cuirass and paludamentum, seen from 3/4. See another example here for 116 AD (with Parthicus title): Similar bust to the one from the Prado museum would have served as model for the die engravers: This type of portrait was later popular for the earlier issues of Hadrian. See for example with same bust style: Nice natural patina. Ex. Baranowsky, Rome, 13 June 2008
