D in Durham reversed. Issued by Bishop Hatfield North 1170 - SCBC 1594 LAL 1/1 Durham Series E Unusual letter R which looks like a P with a horizontal bar at the foot. This letter form occurs on some Groats & half groats of London but not on the pence. It does not occur on the coins minted in York but occasionally does so on the pence minted at Durham - as on this example. Weight = 1.12 gms Bought Ebay April 2008
