Rev: Sphinx seated, facing right. K-A legend (obscured) right field. Konuk Type C
Attribution: BMC 3; cf. SNG Tubingen 3407; cf. SNG Keckman 70
Provenance: ex. eCNG 165 (#39), 5.30.07
Weight: 1.71 gm
Maximal Diameter: 13 mm

Note: Bronze from Kaunos is quite uncommon, if not outright rare, and some have posed that these issues might not even be from the mint. There are no known AR issues from Kaunos with the bull/sphinx motif and these design selections are more akin to Ionian than Carian mints. However, these small AE issues have been found proximal to Kaunos and on some a K-A legend provides little doubt that they are from the tiny coastal mint known for the winged Carian series.
