Edward III B/C Mule Half Groat - Mint London. (Very Rare Coin) Obv: Crowned bust facing - Top arches 'Fleured' Legend: +EDWARDVS o REX o ANGL o Z o(FRA)NCI Annulet Stops. (Open E in EDWARDVS & REX plus composite S - typical of Series B) LAL Series B 8 - 10 (DIG 5) Rev: Long Cross bisected by two concentric circles; trefoil of pellets in quarters. Legend: +POS / VI DEV / ADIVT / OREM LON / DON / CIVI / TAS (Lombardic M, reversely barred N's and no stops) LAL Series C (b) 6 (DIG 4) Weight = 2.08 gms. Flan split runs from 6 to 10 O'Clock - unsightly but coin stable and in one piece. Detail very sharp and clear. Bought Ebay July 2016. LAL = The Coinage of Edward III from 1351 by L.A. Lawrence.
