RIC 827b; C. 793 (4F) Some peculiar high relief medallion-like portraits with cuirassed bust for this type seem to show that there has been a special emission in addition to the regular type, celebrating the attribution of the SPQR optimo principi title to Antoninus. A die-link of another cuirassed bust obv. to a PIETAS AVG reverse is to be mentioned. Scarce.
