STUNNING AND EXTREMELY RARE PHILIP II TETRADRACHM KINGDOM OF MACEDON, PHILIP II (359-336 BC), AR TETRADRACHM KINGDOM OF MACEDON. Philip II (359-336 BC), AR Tetradrachm, 14.48 g, 12h. Mint of Pella, struck circa 342/1-337/6 BC (lifetime issue). Head of Zeus facing to right, wearing a laurel-wreath. Rev. ΦIΛIΠ-ΠOY, young male rider, naked and holding a palm-branch and reins, on a horse pacing to right, a thunderbolt below; "N" in exergue. Le Rider pl. 10, 233; Traité IV, Taf. 307, 2; Boston 649-651. Excellent Portrait of Zeus in one of the finest late classical Styles. Struck in high relief on sound metal with amazing iridescent Cabinet Tone. Good Extremely Fine.
