STUNNING AND EXTREMELY RARE PHILIP II TETRADRACHM from the PROSPERO COLLECTION KINGDOM OF MACEDON, PHILIP II (359-336 BC), AR TETRADRACHM KINGDOM OF MACEDON. Philip II (359-336 BC), AR Tetradrachm, 14.47 g. Mint of Pella, struck circa 342/1-337/6 BC (lifetime issue). Head of Zeus facing to right, wearing a laurel-wreath. Rev. ΦIΛIΠ-ΠOY, young male rider, naked and holding a palm-branch and reins, on a horse pacing to right, a thunderbolt below. Le Rider pl. 9, 199 (D116/R163); SNG ANS 379. Excellent Portrait of Zeus in one of the finest late classical Styles. Struck in high relief on sound metal with beautiful tone and some lustre. Almost MINT STATE. EXTREMELY RARE with this ZEUS Portrait in this FINEST STYLE and in this STUNNING CONDITION !!! Among the BEST and FINEST of all Philip II Tetradrachms known!!!
