I've long thought the female bust on the obverse of this coin is one of the most artistically pretty designs on Roman denarii. I'm glad to snag a good example. It's getting harder and harder these days to get nice coins for affordable prices. I'm just about locked out of the Greek market and Roman coins are bringing shocking prices too. -c

Yes, it's quite high relief for a denarius. The picture would be better with the light at an angle. -c

I just watched the NAC auction for the RBW collection RR coins. My eyes were bleeding. 12x estimate on some coins.

 

I have to either lower the grade of coin I want or just stop trying.
