WOW!!! Either you have a great eye, or your sources do.

 

I have looked for a Constantine I for awhile and could never find one that really compelled me to buy. This however is pretty fantastic.

 

Have I ever told you that I hate you. ;-)

I debated about buying this little gem for several days, but I had never seen one nearly as nicely struck or with somewhat artistic dies so I grabbed it. It'll never set any sales records, but it's purty.

 

I hope you will forgive me someday.

Thanks, Bill. It's a small late Roman bronze that is a common type, though I have never seen one so well struck with sharp, fresh dies, and such long wings on Victory. The personification of Constantinopolis is artistically done with clarity of all the details of the design. It looks like a small medallion of Godiva chocolate.
