I have never seen this type before... too bad it didn't make it into regular production; the style is absolutely wonderful.

I agree, William. It's also heavy for a groat of this time period which may have to do with it not being produced much. Maybe it was some sort of presentation piece. I've only been able to find one other of this kind on a web search so it must be pretty rare. The reverse monogram is really neat in hand. You can trace every letter of Elizabeth. -c
