AR Hieron II 16 Litrae 275-215 BC Sicily, Syracuse, 13.31g. O: Diademed and veiled head of Queen Philistis; torch right. McClean-2196 (same dies). R: Quadriga driven by Nike left instead of right. G: Extremely rare. Coin is struck in high relief with beautiful surfaces. One tiny scrape on the queen's veil. Sharply struck. Mint State S: Harlan J. Berk, Ltd. 2/3/10

Thanks, Jim. I love the style of the obverse portrait, but I was pleased to get such a well struck reverse. My research so far suggests there is only one known die for this reverse. -h

Very, very nice. For a common type, it seems to be extraordinarily difficult to find really

choice examples. And this one is REALLY choice!
