Antoninianus of Probus AD 276/282 - Mint Ticinum Obv: Radiate,helmeted,cuirassed bust left,holding spear & shield (RIC Bust G) VIRTVS PR - OBI AVG. Rev: Hercules stg left holding olive branch,club & lion skin. HERC - VLI PACIF. VXXT in exergue. RIC Vol V Pt2 Ticinum No 383 Variety. The obverse legend break is more commonly seen on coins from the mint at Rome. The reverse legend is not recorded by RIC for #383 which is more commonly either PACIFERO or PACIFER. Bought at Red House Antiques, York Sept 09.
