Beautiful coin!

This is a very impressive coin. I did not notice it in the catalog, but looking at your photo it really has grown on me. Very nice style - seems virtually perfect for the type.

Thanks for the comments guys. This little coin is a beauty. It has nice iridescence which is underrepresented by the picture and its high relief is not fully apparent. The design is simple yet elegant and classic. I can't help wondering the significance of the pitcher to Terone. I imagine it's a religious allusion, but I haven't found any more detail. The stippling of the quadripartite reverse is very much like the reverses of Akanthus tetrobols of the same time period. Not a coincidence I suspect. -h
