is indeed a Mint State coin. The luster looks like that from an uncirculated mercury

Superb. Almost bid on it myself. You got it for a very nice price. I thought it would have surely gone for closer to estimate.

The obv die is identical to other coin I am looking at bidding on. I am guessing it comes from the same hoard.

Yes, I was pleased, and a little surprised, at the price. I appreciate your not running the price up on me. I think there was a hoard about 10 years ago with a number of these in good condition, though Ed said he had seen almost all of them and this one might be the best. Obviously there is a lot of subjectivity in a statement like that, but Ed has a good eye and phenomenal memory, so I wouldn't be surprised to learn this is an above average example of the type. I have been trying to get a good one ever since I first noticed the hoard appearing on the market.
