Hydatius has pointed out this may be a fake. I have asked Ed Waddell about it and he says it looks suspicious so I am sending it back to him for review. Thanks Richard for catching this and giving me the feedback about it. -Clay

Interested to know what suspicious about this one? Looks perfect which may be it, though the edges too ring alarm bells

Richard says the obverse portrait looks too modern. The reverse figure is leaning which he says is unique and the shin should be longer than the thigh. I'm going to send it to Ed and, if he is ambivalent, I think I will send it to David Sear.

This coin has now been examined by two members of the IAPN forgeries committee. They concur on the basis of many specific points, including information from microscopic examination, that this is undoubtedly original and authentic. I am pleased to be able to report the confirmation of its authenticity.
