Edward I Class 10ab4 Mint Canterbury Crowned bust facing EDWR'R'ANGL'DNShYB' - overlapping W in EDW - unbarred N in ANGL; broken S in DNS & CIVITAS. Rev: Long cross quartered with trefoil of pellets. CIVI TAS CAN TOR (Canterbury) See Sylloge of Coins of the British Isles (SCBI) 39 No 538 for unbarred N in ANGL and 538/539 for Canterbury issues. Early to mid AD 1303. North 1039/2. Scarce to rare - only 2 Canterbury examples and only 6 of the class in SCBI 39. Weight = 1.41 gms Bought from Colin Cooke Coins December 2003
