Edward IV Heavy Coinage Class III Halfpenny Mint London

Edward IV 1st Reign AD 1461 to 1470 Heavy Coinage 1461-64 Class III Halfpenny. Crowned bust facing. EDWARD DI GRA REX Initial mark - Rose Rev: Long cross quartered by trefoil of pellets CIVI TAS LON DON. WT = 0.48 gms North 1546 SCBC 1992. Bought Mike Vosper October 2002 Two issues with this coin needs to be resolved (i) The obverse legend (EDWARD DI GRA REX) appears to match the Blunt & Whitton type II Halfpence but non otherwise recorded;however, Withers records this variant as Type 2c with concordance with Blunt & Whitton Type III (Plain Bust) although the legend type is anomolous. Other coins assigned to this group show the legend EDWARD REX ANGLI(E) & (ii) The reverse letter form of the D in DOn looks like a reversed letter E. Withers does not comment on this but similar lettering is evident in other examples of the Heavy Coinage.
