Hemidrachm of Diodotus II of Bactria 246 - 237 BC

Obv:-Diademed bust of Diodotus right No legend Rev:- Zeus standing left hurling Thunderbolt; aegis over left arm. Monogram between legs. No Eagle. Legend: BASILEUS (DIO)DOT(US) Bought Thames Valley Coins 1968 This Hemidrachm seems to match Series F Group 5 as described in Frank L Holt's "Thundering Zeus - The Making of Hellenistic Bactria" - see Appendix A page 159 Note 106. Following extensive communication with Mr Holt a cast of this Hemidrachm provided to him for study & possible citation in future edition.
