Ex Holway Hoard No 395 in the inventory prepared by Roger Bland & Steve Minnitt
and published by British Museum Publications in
The Normanby Hoard & other Roman Coin Hoards 1988.
Nine examples of this type are recorded from Holway, eight off (Nos 387 to 394)
are retained in Taunton Castle Museum
- this coin in my collection is No 395 in the Inventory. In my view this is one of the finest Siliqua portraits of Arcadius I have seen - it must have found its' way into the Hoard within a matter of a few weeks or months from minting.
