Series Gb Pence = North 1206.
Rev: Long Cross quartered by trefoil of pellets - no quartermark.
CIVI / T.A.S / LO(II /DO)II - pellets in TAS and unbarred N's.
This reverse conforms to the reverse mule Gf linked to a Gc Obv described on page 59
of LAL's The Coinage of Edward III from 1351 Part III Num Chron Vol XII.
Series Gf Pence = North 1208.
So this coin is a previously unrecorded Gb / Gf Mule Penny from London. As such it is excessively rare.
The recent synthesis of the coinage by Lord Stewartby in English Coins 1180 to 1551
(Pub Spink 2009) continues to describe the arrangement of the Series G Pence and muling as set out by Lawrence in 1932.Stewartby Pages 264 / 265.
