Obverse: VRBS ROMA. Helmeted and plumed bust of Roma facing left.
Reverse: No legend. She-wolf standing facing left, suckling Romulus and Remus; above, two stars; in exergue, TR pellet S.

This coin is from the famous Grassmoor Hoard, Nottinghamshire, England. This hoard, consisting of some 1375 coins, was deposited about A.D.340 and discovered by a metal detectorist on 7th January 2001. All the coins were professionally conserved and identified by the British museum. Coins from the hoard were retained by the British Museum to be displayed both there and at the Chesterfield Museum, the remainder were put up for auction and this is one of those.
