Late Roman/Early Byzantine Situla Handle
Late Roman/Early Byzantine 5-6th Century A.D. Situla handle with a portrait of Eve and the apple tree.
Note: Situlae during Christianity were mainly liturgical objects, similar to a small vessel, used to hold holy water. They would be decorated all the way around and were truly impressive.
Bronze; 5.3cm (width), 6.2cm (height)
