Notes: An example of a short series of coins minted by the Lycian dynast, Kherei, under the Attic standard and uncommonly as a drachm. The linear device #25 (Group IV; Morkholm/Zahle) on Athena's helmet, possibly a combination of symbols representing the Lycian letters "Kh." This linear device is found on coins minted under Errbina, Kherga, Kherei, and Täththiväibi. The grain of corn symbol to the left of the dynast bust on the coin's reverse was previously noted on two coins from Kherei [e.g., cf. Morkholm/Zahle 58 (hemidrachm); Morkholm/Zahle 61 (stater); cf. SNG von Aulock 4172 (stater)], but re-emerges to be found on a few issues minted under Perikles. This coin represents the first example found as a drachm and comes from dies not found in any of the standard Lycian dynast reference works.
