This coin appears to be a variant from this series and fits most closely with an example in BMC Cyrenaica (No. 58a). GK284

Thanks, Alex. I went for it because it is very unusual. Saw it in the AMS sale, but it went for far too much for my tastes. Someone's economic misfortune forced a flip sale, I suspect.

Nope. I still have the same camera and light diffuser box setup from years ago...the one I shared with you. Generally, I take 30-50 pictures of a coin under various lighting conditions and select the pick of the lot. I have found the best results shooting the coins in macro with no flash at the end of the day (lower natural lighting) and one natural light lamp positioned outside the upper right quadrant of the light diffuser box. I shoot against the neutral grey background of the camera stand and position a 10 mm "spacer" (i.e., rubber pencil eraser) under the coin to raise it above the field to reduce shadows around the rim. The best two shots are then brought into Photoshop, where I remove the neutral background and replace with a black background. No other electronic manipulation other than the background replace.
