Vespasian COS VII

ancientcoins

Vespasian, 76 A.D., Rome. OBV: IMP CAESAR . VESPASIANVS AVG, laureate head right. REV: COS VII, Eagle facing, standing on cippus, head left. An interesting coin, as the dot in the obverse legend is a mystery. It is not known for sure what purpose the dot served, if any.
