The style distinct from the Rome mint, the specific obv. legends show that this coin belongs to the auxiliary mint for bronzes in Thrace, possibly situated at Perinthus. This mint also issued Asses for Julia Titi with same CERES reverse, and sestertii. These local issues would have been struck for use by the legions servicing the border. See A. Burnett, "Regional Coinage in Thrace and Bithynia during the Flavian Period".
