AR Tetradrachm, 17.17g. c.300-290 B.C. Horse head to left; palm tree behind; Punic inscription, "people of the camp," below. Jenkins 323 (this coin listed). Lovely old cabinet toning and struck in high relief on both sides. Extremely Fine. This is a choice example of the finest early Hellenistic Greek art and with an impeccable pedigree. Ex: Sir H.Montagu collection, Sotheby, Wilkinson, and Hodge, London, Auction, Part 1, March 23, 1896, lot 809, illustrated on plate X. The coin was purchased by the well known Parisian dealer Rollin.
